In Naval terms, our decks were awash. The bedroom carpet has to come out but we were able to mostly spare the living room laminate. There was so much water up to the front entrance that I had to build a breakwater to keep waves out of the living room every time a truck would drive by. My neighbor works with the EBRSO and had sandbags, so I used those on the back door to stop the water coming in there, and used pinestraw bales to make my breakwater at the front door. We never lost power so we finally were able to get the AC running to help dry the house out. My new Combat Information Center floor is floor tile and that dried really well with floor fans. My next problem is the garage, it had 3 inches of water in it and the garage door main spring broke last week (!) so I have to muscle the door open to get that water out and get air flowing in there. Some of that will be a total loss.
I have enacted the Rule of Negative Cardboard. All cardboard must leave the house permanently.
Here Im hauling sandbags from my nieghbors house, I am at the hightest point on my road. The whole time I was hauling sandbags I was calling "here snakey snakey snake! Here snake!" Living in Snake Central at its finest!!
