Hi all,
I'm Ben Black from Lafayette.
Some of you might have seen me way back at MechaCon '12 when I presented my first venture into animatronics, GLaDOS (Portal 2) and later Wheatley the following year.
StarWars-wise? I'd say Starwars was the first movie I learned to quote, lol, so I guess I was a fan from the get-go!
It has played a definate role in my current career pursuit as a consumer/medical robotics engineer (think Luke's hand and the DaVinci Robot).
Since learning that Builders Club members Oliver Steeples and Lee Towers were actually working with Disney on set, I started the huge undertaking of building a 1:1 scale R2-D2 by Builder's Club standards; about 2 years into it so far. (Typical time to complete is a little over 3)
While I'm some way off from completing him (hope to be done by Ep IX), it would be a privilage to be of service during troops with what I do have:
Out of all the extra parts from the project, I've built a more Imperial-friendly MSE-6 (Seen here for the first time at LACC'17).
To go along with the droid, I intend to make an Imperial Mechanical Crewman's outfit.
I'll put a view of my current R2-D2 work up on the WIP section soon.
For the Rebel Legion, I'll be working on TFA Luke's outfit as well.
Hope to see ya'll soon!

Welcome to the boards. I remember seeing your GLaDOS at Mechacon and it was pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing your costumes and droids. That mouse droid looks sweet.
