Hello all from future member (I hope)

Hello to Bast Alpha! My name is Steve Schwarer and I've been a fan of Star Wars since standing in a blocks-long line in New Orleans in 1977.
Despite that, and the fact that my wife Tammey and I have been long-time costumers, and that I've known about the 501st for years, I've never done any Star Wars costuming. Huh. Sooo, I'm finally looking at rectifying that. I'm lucky enough to already know several members of Bast Alpha through other costuming venues and I will rely on their advice (and that of others here of course). Though I have a "dream build" (as I suppose we all do) I've realized I should start small and work up, so at present, I'll go "soft", with my focus on an Imperial Officers uniform. This will allow me to get rolling and be able to help out as a wrangler, etc. quickly, without the limitations that "hard" costumes impose.
I'll have to admit though, I've wanted to be a Kilted Trooper ever since meeting Keith Cassela at the ren faire years ago. There is is Keith, the truth is out.
My wife, on the other hand, has chosen to join the rebels as an X-wing pilot. Sigh. Well, maybe I'll be able to get her to see reason some day and join the dark side.
Well, there ya go. We're looking forward to eventually being a part of the 501st/Bast Alpha and the Rebel Legion/Degobah Base family.
