Eleena Daru

Hello, everyone! I just joined the forums a few days ago and did wrangling for the first time only a week or so ago, so I'm very new to all of this, but I'm very excited to be here and looking forward to when I can be an official member! My boyfriend (lsuackbar) just joined up recently as an Imperial Navy Trooper and was the one that made me think that I'd like to join, too.

I haven't started working on it yet, but I'm planning on doing an Eleena Daru costume. She's a bit more of an obscure character and I only actually found out about her a few weeks ago, but I really love her character design and would love to be able to dress up as her, so I'm making a point to learn more about her.

Here's a picture of what she looks like:

She's one of the characters from the Star Wars mmo, The Old Republic, and is the love interest of Darth Malgus.

Anyways, that's about it for now since I sadly don't have any work in progress that I can show. Due to current circumstances, I'm not able to start work on the costume right away, but I'll be starting as soon as I'm able to and I'll be sure to give updates as I make progress. I think the main obstacle will be trying to make sure my costume is good for approval when I don't think there's any specific guides out there on how to make a 501st approved Eleena Daru costume since she's not a very well known character, haha.

Welcome, Cristina.

That would be an impressive costume. You should check out Flagship Eclipse Detachment of the 501st here: http://www.theflagshipeclipse.com/

I know I've seen threads about her on that forum. Good luck with the costume build and shout out if you need help. The Garrison is full of talented people with a wide range of costuming knowledge.

Welcome and good luck.
That will be a tough costume to make but if you can pull it off, it will look amazing.

My Girlfriend was looking at this costume for awhile, so I was doing some research on it. To mu knowledge it is not an approved costume as of right now. That being said there are a hand full of people working on getting it done. My hope for it is that the Sith Acolyte has been approved so maybe she can be too! I second what James M. said Go to the Flagship eclipse forum, Thats where she would be. In fact I saw in one of the Acolyte threads a guy 3d printed her blasters and they came out great! Good luck!

Welcome! Seems like a pretty cool character.

We met at the Mopar event. I'm working on a :boba: and you spoke to my wife (who is also interested in doing a character). Now that you've joined maybe i can convince her to join the forums as well.

Cheers.

Cristina!!!! Hi!

You know Evan I'm really confused about that too. On the one hand Eleena Daru has no CRL (even on Flagship Eclipse) so it seems like she is not a currently approved costume. On the other hand, you have this lady from the Spanish Garrison who apparently got approved:

Like Paul said, if one has been approved, the hard part is probably already done. The trick with non-movie/non-CW characters is that they like multiple references for the character, and for video games that can get tricky.

Glad to you have on the boards - welcome!

Thank y'all so much for the warm welcome! :D As a side note, I thought I remembered there being a rule here about not directly quoting other people's responses here with the quote button, so I'm just going to lay-out my post like this, instead, to respond to everyone. Just let me know if that's not the way I'm supposed to do it, though, haha.

@Rogan Creel
Thanks so much for the link and the info! I hadn't gotten a chance to check out that site as much yet, so I didn't know that there were threads about her on those forums. That's really handy to know!

@Reela
Thanks for the welcome! Haha, yeah, I've made some costumes before, but this will definitely be the most involved costume I'll have worked on so far. I'm definitely ready for the challenge, though, and excited to get started!

@Krysis
Thanks for the welcome and for the info! Hopefully, if she's not approved already, she will be approved sometime in the near future. Also, that sounds amazing that someone was able to use a 3D printer to make her blaster! I'll be sure to check that out on the Flagship Eclipse forums!

@TheAwesomeSloth
Hey there, David! Yeah, I remember meeting you and your wife at the Mopar Event! And yeah, hopefully you can convince your wife to join the forums now, too, haha!

@lsuackbar
Haha, hey, Rappy! Ahh, yeah, thanks for linking to the girl from the Spanish Garrison so the others could see! Hopefully if she was able to get approved as Eleena Daru, I'd be able to get approved, as well.

@VooDoo
That's great to know that it does help my situation that someone else has already been approved in it! And thanks so much for the link, I'll be sure to check out her website!

@BalconyBrawler
Haha, yeah, I think I might know you from somewhere? Hmmm...
And thanks, Steven, I really appreciate it!

@Gilamu
That's good to know, thanks! And yeah, that makes sense that they would want multiple references for those types of characters. I imagine it can make things more complicated if the character is from a video game. I'll have to see what other good reference pictures I can find of her to save on my computer as reference for myself and for them. And thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to be here!
