Your first step in joing the 501st Legion is to sign up on the BAST ALPHA GARRISON FORUM. It's free and easy to do.

Once you are on the forum, introduce yourself in the "Future Members" section.  Let us know a little bit about you and what costume you are interested in. You'll soon discover a warm welcome and a wealth of information you'll need in creating a costume. Once you join you'll discover the effect your costume has on others in our community.
